102-Cash Investment Management "101" - An Overview
This session will provide an introduction to the investment of cash assets for corporate investors. Geared toward those with limited investment experience, this session will be a fast paced introduction to the history of cash investment management, relevant products and services and interest rates. Elements of a formal investment program will be discussed including investment policy construction, risk assessment and liquidity optimization. Yield curves, interest rate tables and credit ratings will be discussed. Capital markets jargon will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives:
Develop an understanding of the investment options available to corporate investors. This would include banking and capital markets products and accounts as well as an overview of investment policy/guideline basics. 
Understand the basics of interest rates, risk assessment and portfolio construction. This would include examples from past interest rate cycles, recent experiences and the optimization of portfolio liquidity with operating and capital expenditure cash flow needs. 
Understand how to use yield curves, interest rate tables and spread charts. Also appreciate the turmoil experienced in the short-term income markets since mid-2007 and the lasting impact on investors.
Tom Kazazes, Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management
Tom Kazazes is an Executive Director in Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management Division and leads a Cash Management Services team in New York. Tom’s career has focused on asset allocation and investment management for corporations and other institutional pools of capital. His day-to-day focus is the management of liquidity-focused portfolios with maturities up to five years. Over his 18 years of cash management focus, Tom has been responsible for aggregate client assets exceeding $20Bn. He currently manages more than $4Bn in client assets. In September 2009, Tom delivered "From Sub-prime to TARP, Did Some Get the Name of That Bus?" as a qualifying continuing education session for the Ohio Society of CPAs.

Tom holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School and a BChE from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
