308 - Managing Tactical Risk, Tax, Treasury and International Trade
Treasury professionals must understand the effect of international business decisions in-line with strategy decisions and the effect to your organizations bottom line. We will discuss FX requirements, intercompany legal transactions; entities; divestiture & acquisitions, equity injections or reductions, international trade; LC transactions and operations. We will examine the full picture and why departmental collaboration is necessary to achieve strategic goals.

Janice Leahy, Dahn & Leahy LLP
Ms. Leahy brings over 24 years of financial expertise to the firm. Her extensive experience ranges from public accounting, publicly owned billion dollar multi-national companies to small privately held companies. She excels in the areas of tax, treasury, finance and international trade. Prior to co-founding Dahn & Leahy, she was the Director of Regulatory Compliance & International Trade for GSI Group Inc., a multi-national technology company. In addition to the trade directorship at GSI Group Inc., she successfully held the position as the Director of Tax & Treasury for GSI Group Inc., formerly known as GSI Lumonics Inc. for several years. She architected, developed and strategically implemented tax, treasury and trade departments from the ground level up. She pioneered management development programs which led to upward mobility within her staff. She championed practical and strategic initiatives which benefited the bottom line, thereby improving company performance. 

Ms. Leahy has been a featured lecturer at several universities, including Harvard Business School. She holds advanced degrees in finance, accounting and business administration. She is an enrolled agent, commissioned notary public and is a member of Southern New Hampshire University's International Finance advisory Board. She is also an executive director on the Board of the New Hampshire International Trade Association (NHITA). Most currently, she is founder of the Treasury Executives Institute, a non-profit organization.

David Dahn, Dahn & Leahy LLP
Mr. Dahn brings over 17 years of financial and administrative leadership to the team. In addition to co-founding Dahn & Leahy, Mr. Dahn is the founder and CEO of Corporate Finance Outsourcing (CFO) LLC (www.outsourcedfinance.com), a firm focused on propelling the success of early stage companies with mature-stage financial support. Prior to founding CFO, he was the Treasurer of Lionbridge Technologies Inc. (www.lionbridge.com) and saw the company through two secondary offerings, a $300MM syndicated debt placement, numerous acquisitions as well as the first successful implementation of Sarbanes Oxley for the Boston PwC office. Prior to joining Lionbridge, Mr. Dahn worked at Akamai Technologies (www.akamai.com) architecting their international expansion and helping establishing the tax and treasury departments, and was a New England area leader for Ernst & Young LLP for several accounting method initiatives as well as overseeing audit and tax clientele. 

Mr. Dahn has been a featured lecturer at The Conference Board, former instructor for Conviser Duffy, is a CPA and holds a Masters of Science in Taxation from Bentley College.
